Sivaji: The Boss

Hype was around about the Superstar Rajnikant's movie Sivaji of its being hit, and we finally manage to get tickets in advance for the show on Tuesday 26th June, 2007. The show was partially sponsored by office and we got a lenient time schedule to watch the movie in weekday. In weekends, there were no hope.

The showtime was at 10:00 am and all of us gathered there at PVR, Bangalore by 9:30 am. The PVR, Bangalore is the largest multiplex in India. The show was full in advance and no booking at counter for that show. It was great experience to see Rajni's larger than life image in Sivaji, where he succeeded to achieve his goal of setting his Sivaji Foundation.

Movie was good and throghout comedy scenes helped to make the movie entertaining for me. This was also my first ever regional (Tamil) movie in a theatre. I liked the show but didn't get the precise meaning of dialogues.

Even after the movie, the craze of Sivaji was there among my Tamil friends. And off and on, I used to hear the dialogues of Rajni or to imitate the style of Rajni in Sivaji.

COOL.

Valentine's Day Special

Game of Table Tennis seems to be the De Facto entertaining activity in our office. And with the time many have mastered themselves in this game. Now it's common... it's usual to have one or another sorts of tournament on the Table. But one on the Valentine's Day had something special in it.

Today it was decided to play the game of T.T. with some odds in place. Teams formed on the two criteria - First, only unmarried from office were eligible...Second, the best player will get a equally worst partner in mix doubles. Hurrily, team was formed, matches were scheduled and all set to play. Prize money also was there. Winner would get Rs. 200/-, First runner up Rs 150/-, 100/- for third position, 50/- for fourth, 40/- for fifth, and so on till Rs 10/-. Was a big deal for me to manage even Rs. 40/-. Of course, the married fellows were mere spectators.

Lets come to the Table set for play. For the different kind of game, different kind of mindsets formed. All the idea was to get entertained and so there were more rounds of laughs than that of matches. Strange shots and services were more common today. Whose rounds were not on, they were busy to train their partners about the tit-bits of this game. Some had tried one's hand for the very first time with the bat. I can bet, some had got ingenious quality to pick the game as they did pretty well in their very first game.

I was with Navya...beauty at its best. Well begun is half done. But for me it was more important that she was regular and was in good touch of the game. Like every good player in team she must would be frustated to see me with her, as I was the sort of fellow who never took interest in TT. Matches were on, we won our very first rounds, then lost two consecutive games. She was utmost serious at play, and for me it was not more than fun by that time. She was consistently doing good, but because of my faults, she had to lose two games. Add to this, at one instance, I told her not to set any expectation from me. After telling this to her, I got serious. As I was poor in playing I had to depend on Navya, I started motivating her by constantly appreciating each and every move. Also I tried hard to not let her down. It worked as wonder. Soon, we realized that we have cleared so many rounds and only some are there to be the winner. Implemented one serious theory of life to set expectations from life as it comes in the way and in appropriate amount. We were approaching to win, but in second last match we lost very closely to our opponent. In final match again, we were firm and won the Valentine's Day Special. Credit goes to following three:
  1. Navya (whose look was killing the opponents more than her shots).
  2. Farook (who taught me, how to play the game and be calm in all the situations).
  3. All who didn't play to their optimum level.
